Hey everybody!
Greetings from the airport of Riga. I'm on my way to the Alps to snowboard. I have been working hard since last year and I am definitely in need of a pause. I have some good news concerning my music, I have found great new connections and people who to work with. I can mention for example my childhood friend Nora Huovila, who has made some awesome lyrics to me, in Finnish. Singing in Finnish feels really good. I'm sorry that some people won't be able to understand a sh*t! Well, we just have to live with it and hope that the universal language of music can carry the feelings through. I'm off now, be well! <3 Hanna

Greetings from Bayern, I was there to play some Christmas music to the happy Bavarian people, great fun! Bavarian tip: A great way to start the week is to go to have a dark beer for breakfast on Monday morning. That picture with the weird locks is taken from a typical Bavarian beerhouse, where the pints are securely waiting for their real owners :D Although I'm a great fan of Bavarian Monday tips, I still didn't get my own pint locked up... yet. I believe that Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without Christmas music! Get in tune with Christmas for example: F or the choir lovers, I definitely recommend to come to our Christmas concert on Saturday at 7 pm to the church of Kallio. https://www.facebook.com/events/179890358872944/?ref_dashboard_filter=upcoming Then we will sing with Säde Bartling and Veera Railio some joyful Christmas music in Iso Omena for the last minute shoppers! My Christmas holidays will keep being busy in the studio, so time off and holidays will have to wait a bit... But it feels like holidays because it will be the greatest fun anyway! So with this beautiful tune I'm wishing you the best Christmas, where ever you are. PEACE <3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iolarPT3OKs This fall has been very rich in colors and activities! Right now I am really exited, because we will go on tour to China with the female vocal group Viisi in a week! I'm so honored that they asked me to go with them, as a substitute for Saima Hyökki. I have learned 17 songs by heart, my life has been one big "du-pa-duuba" for the last couple of weeks. (And loving it.) http://viisi.net/2013/10/20/lauluyhtye-viisi-konserttikiertueelle-kiinaan/ Then another great news is something pretty unbelievable. I am not so sure if there is something called "coincidence", as you can hear from my song ;) But quite a nice "coincidence" happened when I received a job offer a few months ago: My biggest wish ever as a teacher has been to teach composition and songwriting. I have been working a lot with singers and having creative workshops but that wasn't yet exactly songwriting…. But one day I received a call where I was literally offered the job of my dreams !!! A job that I had never even applied. So, now I teach songwriting for a singing (!!!) group in Espoo. I am so happy! Life just sometimes can surprise in an amazing way. Then I have been actively singing in the Helsinki Chamber Choir which is the only professional chamber choir in Finland. Last week we sang some contemporary classical music in the Nordic Music Weeks, which was great fun. We also sang some time ago a piece called Vigilia by finnish composer Einojuhani Rautavaara that was broadcasted by the Finnish national TV YLE. http://areena.yle.fi/tv/2017462 Now this workaholic is going to study some more du-pa-duuu-ba! Bye for now :) Love Welcome to my home studio! It has been a little quiet here in my blog, but it definitely has not been so quiet in my life in general! (Poor neighbors) It's been a pretty busy autumn as usual, with plenty of projects, concerts, studio work, pupils, finishing my thesis and so on… Now I came straight from a TV broadcast recording with the Helsinki Chamber Choir, This is why I dared to be in the picture this time… ;) I'll keep you updated and will have something interesting to tell very soon but now I really have to go on working, so good night for you and good work for me! Haha Love ps Next Wednesday I'm going to play in a very cosy and lovely little bar called Bar Mucava, I think there's going to be a warm and nice atmosphere, so if you're around that area come and say hi! This text is in Finnish HERE This is a good time to start my blog by writing an almost annoyingly positive post! Last week end I was playing and having a workshop at The Natural High Healing Festival in Sysmä, Finland. The feeling was just MAGICAL! We laughed, cried, sung (!!) together and in the end people started dancing! Even though was not with a band but performing only with my piano and a super percussionist Iiro Kontio. This kind of euphoria has never happened to me before! After that we had a singing workshop which was a success aswell. So only good news for today! The most amazing thing is when the audience is actually making the moment together with the artist. It's not only about how cool the singer wants to be but how HOT we can be together with each person of the public! Amazing, thank you, thank you thank you. Looking forward to the next gig, which will be in Sardegna, Italy! Bellissimo. If you can't make it to Sardegna, the next one in Helsinki is going to be the 18th of Sept, in Bar Mucava ;) |
